Watson Gloves was founded by John Watson and Wayne Stanley in April 1918.
Every weekday, John cut the strong Canadian leather and Wayne sewed it into gloves.
On Saturday, the two men would go to the wharves and sell the gloves that they had crafted during the week to workers gathered at Vancouver’s docks.
During the past eight decades some changes have been made at Watson Gloves. Our factory is now capable of producing over 1,000 pairs of gloves per day. You do not have to go to the Vancouver docks to get your Watson’s anymore either. They are now available around the world.
Some things, however, are better left unchanged. John Watson believed in using only top quality leathers and this still holds true. The same level of dedication and craftsmanship that Wayne and John put into their gloves is built into every pair that leaves our plant today. The average artisan in our factory has over 20 years of experience with Watson’s. These skilled crafts people have been trained to pay meticulous attention to every detail of the glove-maker’s trade and our products show it.
Over the years, changes in industry and fashion have demanded gloves fabricated from different materials. These days our knowledgeable buyers travel the world looking for innovative products to expand our product line. They bring back only the best, from all parts of the world. Thus we have grown and are now proudly the top distributor of gloves in Western Canada. Our sales and support staff strive to serve our customers with courtesy and respect.
The company has therefore been able to continue to grow, in fact thrive. We provide service with a smile and an unbeatable product line which, combined, made Watson’s one of those unique success stories in business. At Watson Gloves we are the glove experts. We are your single source for hand protection.
