HR Manager (12 Month Contract)

The Watson Gloves HR Team is looking for an HR Manager to cover a 12-month Maternity Leave. We aren’t like your typical HR team, yes we create policies, manage recruitment and the employment experience BUT we have fun while we do it! Reporting to our Director of People Operations, you will get a first hand look at makes Watson Gloves an ideal place to work while managing the day to day of HR. Your core RESPONSIBILITIES include:

  • Manage Human Resources Information System (Rise)
  • Execute recruitment strategy and process
  • Manage and execute employee recognition program
  • HR Processes & Procedures
  • Manage pre-boarding and on-boarding program
  • Manage probation review process
  • Manage employee files
  • Manage and execute separation and terminations with DPO
  • Address any HR issues that arise with managers and employees
  • Assist DPO in executing training programs
  • Manage WG Policy & Procedure Manual
  • Administer the MSP, Pacific Blue Cross, Great West Life, and HUB insurance plans
  • Execute company HR program: branding, culture, engagement, retention
  • Develop HR practices to streamline and improve department
  • Ensure Organizational Chart is complete and up-to-date
  • Ensure website employee and career page is up-to-date
  • Work with Payroll Coordinator on HR and payroll-related issues


What YOU BRING to Watson Gloves:

  • 5+ years Human Resource Management experience and CPHR designation
  • In-depth knowledge of HR functions, HRIS and MS Office
  • Understand and interpret Employment Standards Acts
  • Creating HR policies based on the needs of the company
  • Union experience; union relations, following and applying a collective agreement
  • Experience with separations
  • Detail oriented with excellent communication skills
