Watson Anniversary – Lisa Hailstone’s 25th Work Anniversary

We’re excited to celebrate Lisa Hailstone’s 25th year at Watson Gloves! We did a little Q&A to learn more about her Watson career over the past 25 years.

What do you do at Watson Gloves?

I’ve held a few roles over the years…currently, I’m the Accounting Services Manager, which means I manage the awesome Account Receivable and Payable Teams – we have the very important job of making sure the money keeps flowing!

How did you start your career here at Watson Gloves?

The whole process was really different back then: I saw an AR Clerk position for Watson Gloves on a newspaper ad (yes, a newspaper!). I got an interview the day after I applied and within a couple of hours, I accepted an offer as an AR Clerk. I guess I did a good job because within 90 days, Barrie Moore (past Chairman) promoted me to Credit Manager!

What do you like most about your job?

It’s really hard to pinpoint. The continuous learning, positive changes, growth of the company, and the ability to build up my team have been super exciting and rewarding.

What’s your most memorable moment at Watson Gloves?

That’s another hard one, there are way too many to choose from! One of my fondest memories is of our former Chairman, Barrie, who loved spoiling the team with treats every Friday when we were back in the old Vancouver location. There are countless memories that I can keep for a lifetime and feel so lucky to have found a place that I have been able to call home for 25 years!

What does ‘Watson Family’ mean to you?

It means appreciating each other and leaning on each other. Many of us have been working together for a long time and been through a lot of ups, and even some downs. We’ve seen each other grow up and built a lot of strong relationships, just like a family.
