Press Release – Watson Gloves and Canadian Tire Partnership Introduces New Sustainable Gloves

Watson Gloves Partners Up with Canadian Tire to Bring New Sustainable Yardworks WasteNot™ Gloves

VANCOUVER, BC, APRIL 15, 2021—Watson Gloves, Canada’s leading retail distributor of quality gloves currently in their 103rd year of business, is partnering up with Canadian Tire, a well-established Canadian retail brand currently in their 98th year of business, to release a collection of new eco-conscious WasteNot™ gloves under Canadian Tire’s Yardworks brand. WasteNot™ gloves complement Yardwork’s wide selection of easy-to-use products, which help homeowners outwit the outdoors by simplifying yard work.

Yardworks is one of Canadian Tire’s well-known consumer brands, which also includes Mastercraft, Motomaster, and Dakota. Yardworks WasteNot™ gloves, which are made of recycled PET plastic bottles, will add more sustainable offerings under the outdoor product consumer brand. Four eco-conscious gloves are being launched—they feature the iconic Yardworks teal and yellow colours and use 1-2 bottles per glove. With the launch, 77,976 recycled plastic PET bottles are reused. By including Yardworks WasteNot™ gloves into Canadian Tire’s product portfolio, plastic bottles will be diverted from landfills, and instead, be sustainably reused as practical consumer products.

“Canadian Tire is constantly looking for new ways to be sustainable,” stated Patrick Gleason, Brand Consultant for Canadian Tire. “When there are opportunities to create more sustainable products without compromising quality, such as creating products with recycled materials through companies like Watson Gloves, we’re more than happy to pursue these win-win opportunities.”

“Partnering up with Canadian Tire is a great opportunity for us to get our sustainable gloves to a greater market through their Yardworks brand,” said Kasey Whitman, President of Watson Gloves. “Now, more hands can get into quality, eco-conscious gloves that help our environment.”

The four new eco-conscious Yardworks WasteNot™ gloves can be found exclusively at Canadian Tire online or in retail stores. For more information on the WasteNot™ brand and Watson Gloves’ process of turning bottles into gloves, visit here.
