Leadership Principles

At Watson, we’ve been making gloves for over 100 years, and what was once a two-person shop in Vancouver has grown into a North American company with offices across Canada and the U.S.

As we continue to grow, our leadership principles are a handy reminder of what’s important to us and helps to guide us as we continue to innovate.

Core Values

Authentic, Integrity, Family, Fun, Continuous Improvement. Our Core Values are who we have been for over 100 years. They are our guiding tenets for all business and people decisions.

Just Cause

We protect our people, our communities and the environment in which we live through elevating our industry.

Continuous Improvement

We provide a safe environment for a growth mindset and are relentless in our pursuit for innovation and continuous improvement in both the company’s growth and our personal growth.

We are Great

We collaborate as a collective team to achieve success.

Lead by Example

We bring respect, trust, active listening, follow-through, and energy to our work everyday.

OAR vs BED

Ownership, Accountability, Responsibility vs Blame, Excuse, Denial. We live above the line in accountability for the success of the team.

Intentional & Declarative Decision Making

Decisions are made with intention and with an infinite mindset. We clearly declare and communicate decisions with the team in real-time.

Action-Oriented, Results Driven

We drive for results and move quickly to action, wherever we can. By doing so, we save ourselves the cost of inaction.

Transparent Environment

We support one another in a safe, transparent and encouraging environment.

Fiscal Responsibility

Financial decisions are made based on protecting the house first and foremost.

Humble

We are credit-givers, not credit takers.

Leaders Eat Last

We serve our team. We are literally the last people in the line.
